I had a good day and only fished for a few hours. Put in by the dam. Trolled for crappie caught 20 smallmouth and one crappie. Attachment 9895
Attachment 9896
Attachment 9897

All caught on bandits. It was busy but most people weren’t fishing.

The big smallies pictured were a blast on crappie gear

Nice catch.

How deep were you trolling?

I was surprised and found the bass in 8-12 feet Saturday and not shallow. Most seemed spawned out. I caught mine on soft plastics.

Anyone else want to weigh in on JPP?

Nice catch Buzzy. I did not make it out there this weekend

I was in deeper water I guess you could call it. I was trollin bandit 300's with 110 feet of #10 line out. Was working so the baits would be just above the bottom. I don't have a depth finder but I would say at least 12-18 FOW. All the lures that produced had some kind of chartreuse somewhere on them.

I fished the Mac Tournament on JPP yesterday. We caught 12 fish most in 8-14 FOW on a rattle trap and A-rigs. 4 of those were smallmouth the biggest only 15 inches. We only had one keeper a 16' LM that was 2.42lb. 18lbs won the tournament with 17.76 2nd place. We fished very hard from 7-230 shallow and deep and stayed deep after we had better luck with that. Shallow, I dont think we caught a fish. Most fish were caught on long rocky points near deep water. Oh, there was 65 boats in this tournament.
