Today we fished and filmed on OH with a Pro Tournament Angler

Today was a great time all in all Michael and I did some production shooting with Dan and Rusty with Fishin Affliction TV.
Rusty Russ AKA "BigDawg" is a well know ProAngler that fishes for many sponsors one of which is StrikeKing. Today was all about the strike king Red eye shad we landed about 15-LargeMouth together on OldHolickory all in bout 4-6ft drop off ledge range. All caught in about an hour and a half.
One fantastic part about today is Rusty hooked up with one Large Mouth , and he noticed a following bass, I flipped my Strike King lure and there we landed a Double header!
I had a fantastic time today with ProAngler Rusty, Michael, Dan and the fishin affliction team.
Video coming soon!

what is definition of pro angler?

TroutFiend 05-20-2014 02:13 PM

Hey Salty, what type retrieve do you advise with the area you were fishing with the RedEye?

Andy

Here is an idea for you to better understand my friend.

In the bass-fishing industry it is assumed that the words “professional bass angler” refer to one who derives his livelihood from bass fishing.

"MidTNKayakAngler"

Drakes Creek area that parallels the Sanders Ferry Rd. Hope that helps Jeremy.

I would advise a rod tip up Medium Fast retrieve, with sudden stops every third of your cast distance or where the ledges break into a dip to deeper waters.
Hope that helps Andy.

Big difference is you are spending money on the lures that the pros promote. Someone pays them to use those lures. Still not sure what that makes you. :)

I need my yard mowed, but I think I will try and find a amateur to save money :)

Salty can't wait for the video!!

Headhunter here is a link to further clarify Dan and Rusty http://www.fishinaffliction.com/Fish.../Prostaff.html

I personally know Rusty, he is a great fisherman, way better than me, I just do not think of him as a professional fisherman. My brother deals with what I deem professional fishermen pretty much everyday, he is the service tech for the bassmaster elites.

really? What about the professional walleye trail?

I just get tired of everyone being a "pro fisherman". The true pros to me are the bassmaster elites when it comes to bass fishing.

It seems like my head is the one your trying to hunt right now for some reason? Its OK that you have your own definition of "ProAngler" many people do. In my eyes Rusty is a pro, he is an outstanding fisherman that gets complimentary gear to rep in the fishing industry, While many that are not Pro pay for what he reps. He fishes in pro tournaments against other pros. Not to mention if you ever had the opportunity to fish with him the knowledge that pores out of him about the details of fishing strategy is simpily amazing!
Hope that clarifies what I put across.
PS I do understand what you mean by people who claim to be pro that are not.

Most amateur fishing trails define them as an earnings amount or card they carry:

"Pro’s are defined as anyone carrying a membership to any professional level event( ie, PAA, BASS, FLW etc.), or anyone earning $7000.00 in winnings in the year prior to a certain year."

Its all subjective. The NBA are pros as are joe couldnt make its playing in lower russia from here.
