Hows the fishing ?

Hello folks.. I have been on the road the past couple weeks and hoping on this load which will bring back to Tenn. If this happens, I'd like to take the boat out for a day...

Who is catching anything where, as in what in which lake ?

Tight lines..

I’ve been catching a lot of dink’s in lock 3 area on old hick throwing spinnerbaits and rat L traps. I have lost a couple 3-4lbers that have been mixed in the mix on the trap.

Maybe you aren't getting down deep enough.

Troll deep. We went out there last weekend and didn't catch any Crappie shallower than 20ft. We had minnows and we're throwing jigs.
The weird thing was that we would only catch 2-3 fish at most off each spot. 20-23ft seemed to be our sweet spot. 12 Crappie and only 4 were keepers.
I did catch a good Smallie on a 300 series Bandit in between Crappie holes.
Water temp was mid 60's that morning and 70 around noon.

Hammered them this morning in the mist on black buzzbait with black buzz toad trailer. Unbelievably shallow, 2’ and less around hydrilla clumps and cane grass. Water temp 65. Great morning.

Are you still up in the bluegrass area or down lake?

I have had boat issues for a week or so. I'm back in the game now though and looking forward to this week

Launched at Avondale, fished down the west side of Cages Bend down to the bottom and back. Never got on plane, just stood on the trolling motor and slung that buzzbait to the bank.

Crushed them on black buzzbait with black toad trailer. 2’ water and less around hydrilla clumps and cane grass. Water was clear, could see bottom in 3’, untypical Old Hickory for certain but it was really fun catching fish on nearly every cast.

Way to go man!

Had the same thing happen Monday. Found a school on a very shallow flat. We caught them just about every cast for about 30 minutes on Rat-L-Traps. I love this time of year. Also caught a bonus Striper yo-yoing the trap in 14’. It was just a baby 18” but still fun on a medium action rod.
