House Call Mechanic? Impeller needs replaced
Does anyone have a recommendation for a competent
boat mechanic that makes house calls to change my impeller? Just had the boat detailed and don't want to leave it sitting outside at a boat shop while I wait on all the other last minuters. :) 175 Mercury EFI V-175 (EFI) 0G760300 THRU 0G960499 Thanks, Adrian |

I buy my maintenance parts here - http://www.marineengine.com/
Don't buy Sierra parts - http://www.marineengine.com/parts/me...unter-rotation |
Can get kit from Nashville marine on highway 70 in Lebanon or order online. I have got parts from marineengine.com. I can pick one up or you can. Just need exact serial number.

Tracker Marine says they have the kit in stock. Think I'll run by there and check it out.
|
I'll make sure they are OEM Mercury Quick Silver parts.

Wasn’t sure if you knew Tracker Marine that was in Hendersonville moved to Nashville. They are off Spence lane by the river now.

Thanks for kind words Adrian. Always try help someone out because I never know when I might need some help. I think you and Texas Rig are the only ones I have meet on this forum but everyone seems like great people. Some maybe a little crazy lol but genuine. Several have tried to help with my guntersville trip next week and they will never know how much I appreciate it. Take care my friend.

Repair ... <'TK><
Adrian, A thought. With Luckystratos's help. When you get ready to have the seals checked... All you need to do is remove the lower unit and drop it off to whoever and let them pressurize it to determine the leaking seal and replace. That way you can leave your boat in the garage ... By looking at the milky color of your oil you do not have a real bad leak, but it is more than condensate. Just a thought... <'TK><:)

Got my boat back yesterday and it shifts smooth as silk. Larry is a good guy and knows his stuff. I’d highly recommend giving him a call for the seal kit and impeller. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You do not have to completely drain the gear case if only a small amount of water is detected, just remove the upper vent screw and add new Oil until it overflows out of the vent. Note: I only recommend this with Quicksilver High Performance Hypo oil only. <'TK>< :) |
Cake Pan
Your next batch of brownies or cake will be extra moist and oily! Nice drain pan. ;)
|
How hard is it to change out an impeller? Is that a job for a pro or did you (Adrian) watch and think you could do it yourself next time?
|
TK, You're right... When I first drained the oil I did the water test & none came out, but it always has that little marble look to it. I suspect condensation as it was sitting outside all winter until recently. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the information!
