Couple Interesting catches
2 Attachment(s)
The one with the perch is from today, caught by a freind of mine. The big crappie was from about 3 weeks ago, caught by a friend of his. Both caught from East Tenn. on the Tennessee River system using minnows. Thought you guys would like to see them.

That crappie has been caught in every state in the US. I am surprised I haven't seen it here until now.
Here is the real story:http://www.prairiestateoutdoors.com/..._kinkaid_lake/ Cool to see the yellow perch. |

I just read the article about the crappie and they say they believe it to be a white crappie. I could be completely wrong, but to me it sure looks like a black crappie. What do you guys think?
|
It's a black crappie. White crappie have vertical bars, Blacks do not have the bars.

Whats funny about this is that Striperfan was under the impression that it was caught in Norris Lake. Chaseasl is under the impression it was caught in Wisconsin. The article that Fishmanjoe posted says it was caught in Kinkaid in Illinois and that it is a white crappie, which it looks to be a black crappie. :p THIS IS HILARIOUS TO ME!!!!:p
Who has more stories about this fish???:D I think Tennesseejugger is most accurate, saying it is a fake pic altogether since no one can come up with a legit source from where it originally came from! |
While we're on the subject of interesting catches...
I was flyfishing in Cane Creek Park last night having a good time with the bluegill when I caught a white bass. In a tiny lake that isn't stocked with them and has no creeks running into it from anywhere. I saw another one take a swipe at my fly but I missed it. I was pretty surprised. How do you suppose they got there? |
Since we are talking interesting catches, what you guys make of this one?

Umm....Hybrid? haha

Travis,
I think that's a largemouth/crappie hybrid. They're called a crapass and are usually found near sewage outflows. :) Chris |
