Wish we had pictures of these guys so IF we see them fishing, we can notify the authorities, (since we aren't allowed to shoot them).

Sorry folks, I'm a Vietnam vet (42nd IPSD, look us up on the internet) who walked point for a year in VietNam. Had a few platoon-mates get killed by the enemy and I have NEVER been able to accept their existence in my country. And after 43 years, I doubt that it will ever change.

Had they thoroughly investigated this case, and determined (with proof) that these men were selling the fish (which we all know was the case), there might have been a possibility that jail time would have come into play. As it is, the court just looked at it as a bunch of old men who caught over the limit of fish.

When burglars are getting probation, and robbers are getting community service, I didn't hold any hope that these guys would be going to jail. It's just the way our justice system works.

TWRA caught the concessionaire at Laurel Hill 3 years back cooking and selling bluegill out of the lake at the bait shop.......which is owned by TWRA.....and also selling frozen bluegill out the back door by the pound.....also caught out of the lake. They had an undercover guy to buy a to go order and had the fish sample analyzed to make sure it was bluegill....a lot of money was spent to convict him. He was convicted and only fined a thousand bucks...no jail time.....not even loss of licenses. They did however after a couple of weeks of deliberation decide he could no longer be a TWRA concessionaire. TWRA decided that and not a judge. I was in the shop when TWRA came in and told him to leave and they locked the door. Now he did lose a job bringing in around 60 grand a year....but that punishment seemed awful small. The guy still fishes the lake regularly.....but you are right....this is just the way it works.
