Hey all I'm new to Tennessee, and i'm living in Murfreesboro. I'm looking for some good spots semi close to home to go "Bank Fishing". I'm 26, and I have waders so i can wade anywhere up to my waist, I'm a fisherman of fish(I'll fish for anything that bits)

Thanks for any help.

Plenty of good access points around here. The Stones River has plenty places to fish. Also about 1 hour from you is the Caney Fork River. Lots of good trout fishing. Also you have within an hour of you is Normandy(below the dam) Tims Ford (below the dam) for trout. If you have Facebook join the Tennessee Kayak Anglers and Stones River Raiders. Lots of good info there. Hope this helps.

I'm fairly new here myself. There are some access points to the river here in town. One of them is off Medical Center Parkway near NW Broad St. There is a thing here called a Greenway and it goes all through town, often near the Stones River. Use MapQuest and get directions from where you live to Medical Center Pkwy & Searcy St Murfreesboro Tn. There is a Greenway parking lot there off Searcy St. I've never seen anyone wade there but I think it would be possible. There are trout there this time of year. I know there are bluegill there and bass too depending on the season and the mood they are in.

Something you can try is a search on this website. Use: bank fishing Murfreesboro and you will find some old posts that will help you.

Welcome, and good luck...... Dennis

Shoot, he might make some money if he opened the locations up to a bidding war!

Bit of a drive from Mboro but Marrowbone at Joelton has good bank access and catfish.

I live here in Murfreesboro. The west fork of the stones river can be waded from the dam on medical center pkwy all the way down to nice mill dam.Well not all the way to the dam, but you know what i mean. You might want to get some chest waders though, that would allow access to some of the better holes in the river.

That's a good stretch of river to fish. Never waded it but yak it all the time. The greenway entrance off molloy lane is a great spot to wade, just head back towards old fort.

Are there any shore-fishing spots at that Molloy Ln entrance?

It can be waded with or without chest waders. I used to do it all the time. No bank locations.
