Hit Caney Fork today after generation turned down to 1 generator. Started out casting cranks and drifting and had no takers. Swapped over to a white TM and drift fished down stream with it drifted below bobber @ 5'-6' depth and the bite was on. Used the Phantom leader today for the 1st time and was very impressed with strength and catch rate. Water temp was around 43-47' and murky.

Is that a big mouth spotted trout?

Man... I thought was "the one", a large brown trout that is, lol. Actually, the bass bite has been great right below the Dam here lately. Usually 90% of the fish I catch that far down river are trout.

Possibly, looks like generation may stage down on Tuesday "weather dependent".
Temps this weekend look good, just gotta see what the rain is going to do.

I am amazed that you were on the Caney today with the temp and wind. No one loves to fish the Caney more than me,but….. today was a day designed for hot coffee and some time with good friends and family in a warm loving home.
You are one brave man and and glad also to hear about your catches.

Thanks Ed, have had some of my best days up there in those conditions. I have to give thanks to Carhartt and Muck boot company. LOL.

Andy,
I could put all of that on plus skiing long johns and still shake so much I would not be able to cast.If I lucked out and caught a trout,my hands would freeze up getting off the T M. Did go one time when younger in cold weather and the eyes on my rod kept getting ice in them.
Please stay safe and keep fishing the T M.

Awww come on Ed, all that shaking from the cold puts awesome action on the TM!!
Maybe that's how Jeff developed the twitch technique LOL...

I think of the Caney as a mistress.
I am always leaving my wife to visit her on the weekends.

Nice to see the lowly bass and the pretentious trout playing nicely together. If i were to eat bass, I'd think that the caney during winter would produce some tasty fish.
