Normandy lake in winter/spring?

Finally made an account over here, known of this site for a while, just took me a while to get on board.

I got into fishing Normandy lake last summer, with limited success for walleye as well as a few catfish and bass. I hear the crappie fishing is good and am thinking of making a crappie trip or two this spring.

Where I'm kind of lost is how to fish for walleye during the winter and before as well as during the spawn. When do they go up the lake and where should I expect to find them during the next month, and also when the water warms up? I would like to go hunt turkeys and fish for crappie in the same trip during April if I can, but I also want to catch some walleye if they are catchable.

In the next month or 2 as water temps start to rise. Look for shallow rocky points and incoming creeks. They will run those creeks and rocky banks to spawn. Slow roll cranks into the rocks once the water hits 50. I have never fished Normandy. But this works great in all the northern walleye lakes I fish. A walleye is a walleye.

Welcome to the site. I'm MidTennFisher on the other forum you're frequently posting in (Yea, Mike, I took the idea from your name here haha). I have yet to meet anyone who can consistently catch Walleye in this state. It seems to be a much more popular thing up North but here they're known as a difficult fish to pattern.

That being said, they're probably the best tasting fish in Tennessee waters so I'd certainly like to learn to catch them. Last year I had a goal to chase them when they did their early Spring spawning and between traveling for work and other fishing being so good, I never got around to it. Maybe I'll give it a try this year.
