I fished the Frost bite a couples time several years back. Had a lot of fun good group of guys. The LM hanging on my wall was caught in one of those tournaments. I'm looking for a fishing partner for it anyone interested?

I've never fished a tournament and i don't have a boat but I would like to learn more about fishing, and I was told joining a tournament would be a great way to learn, would I be the kind of person you're looking for?

Thanks for posting. I saw Agelessone comment that he was going to wipe the floor with everyone :D on this tournament; and I wondered where the registration ramp would be. I'll be fishing for stripers on a new boat this weekend and want to be as far away from the chaos as possible. :p Seven points is looking good.

Was thinking about going crappie fishing on Priest Saturday but from the sound of it there could be a lot of traffic on the water. Is this a big tourney?

I'll take 500 bass boats over 5 jet skis any day. ;)

Curious as well. This time of year, I'm guessing it took close to 20lb.

SalmonDaze, I was fishing a striper tournament, not the Frostbite (bass) tournament.

This time of year, most of the boats headed upstream from launching pad (Fate Sanders Marina).

We fished the Stones river and managed a third place finish (10 boats entered). And yes, we got rocked a number of times by the fly boys in their bass rigs.

I was up by the dam and only got about 90 minutes of fishing time Saturday. No action. I figured the river is the action this time of year.

How was your haul? All stripers or hybrid mix?

We pulled into our spot on the river at 6:15 Am, my partner caught a 17 inch striper on his first cast, I followed that up with an 18 incher on my first cast.

Two minutes into fishing the tournament and we already had two keepers in the boat! Figured we were going to wear the fish (and the other contestants) out.

Turns out we wouldn't put another fish in the box for 7 hours!

I never caught another fish in 10 hours. My partner boated some more small hybrids.

Two hours left in the tournament we moved closer to the weigh-in spot and Mike caught a nice 7.36 hybrid and then a little later he caught a 4.8 hybrid, giving us a little over 12 lbs, good enough for third.

The two stripers we caught at first were our only stripers of the day.

One boat caught a 20+ lb striper for big fish and to win the tournament. Their only other fish was a four lb hybrid.

One boat did catch a 13+ lb hybrid.
