Went by hook 1 Friday and picked up my new ride. I went with the feelfree lure 11.5. Mounted the elite 5xHDI last night. So far I love it! I wanted to put it in the water today but the rain ruined that. Thursday at Williamsport will be the maiden voyage. The guys and girl at hook 1 were fantastic to deal with. I have to make it back up there and get some rod holders here soon. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/07/3858144080d8fe4e563f74b58dae83d4.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/07/ce58fb32ac6d16a3eac64802151f482a.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/07/7941995ab5e760f17caef471c5c4599e.jpg

Sweet looking ride!!!
As I'm now in the market for a kayak myself, one question... what made you choose the Feel Free over a Wilderness Ride? Just curious.

The fact that it's 36" wide, the seat is awesome and the standing platform is huge and reinforced.

Oh lord, don't start showing me power poles :) I am going to make my own shallow water anchors in the next couple weeks. Your rig looks fantastic, does the rail across the front get in the way at all?

It really did not get in the way. I no longer use it though. I ended up using the Yakattack track adapters and put my depth finder on a ball mount.

Thanks guys, I just noticed the LED lights on your lure JDK. I am going to put the LED strip black lights up front like that on mine and then try and do the red/green on the front top and the white on the top of the back. I have a feeling the rigging my kayak will be more expensive than my bass boat.

Just my opinion but I would steer away from the red and green lights. They give the perception that your vessel is under power and could possible navigate out of the way of a moving vessel.

Ok, never thought about that. I figured if out late you had to have the running lights on.... speaking from Bass boat experience. Are yours blacklights?

Mine are black lights. Going to stack green ones on them soon. IN my past life I was a truck driver so I love lights..lol. I even have a solar landscape light that goes on top of my power pole.

I Love all the lights too. The solar light is pretty funny. I figure I have until next summer before I will really need the lights so I am not in a hurry with that. I did pick up a couple rods tonight to see if they will work for shallow water anchors. I think they may not be heavy enough to work well but I will see Thursday. I also got the crate and rod holders so I can get all that together. So far I have the Crate, rod holders, hawg trough, possible shallow water anchors, fish finder and battery.... what am I missing? Should I get the chain drag anchor for deeper water?

The deep water is something I know nothing about.
A quality PFD made for a kayak.
How are you mounting the depth finder and transducer?

i mounted the head unit to the yak with the mount that come with it. I used the Liberator by mad frog for the transducer, it's all in the pictures.

Yeah, two large mouth on a crank and lost another. Say bait and fish all over the place but could only get a couple takers. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/11/dff7746df8dfe7f61ee437a47ba8632e.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/11/ae25abaa247f81877026516e5cc90dbd.jpg

My recommendation is to leash everything!.....lol. If it can fall overboard it probably will eventually.
I've been collecting up old cell phone chargers to make up some of these:
http://palmettokayakfishing.blogspot.com/2011/09/build-rod-leash-for-kayak-fishing.html
I've seen some with key chain carabiners on them instead of that orange clip that would work well with spinning reels.

It's a Johnson and it's attached to the Stratos.

Almost embarrassed to say.... Haha and if your a spy for my wife I'll hunt you down. Fully rigged minus the fishing gear is prolly around 2500 ish. That's includeing the boat, rudder, power pole and depth finder

HA HA, you sound like me. Had a friend ask me out of the blue about my new one...... thought the same thing, spy for the wife.

No spy. Thought about buying a yak but I know myself and I know I would not be happy until I had it rigged out close to what you have. Just needed to know before I started down that road. Probably would not get the power pole but everything else is a MUST HAVE!!
