Does anybody fish out of Lamar Hill boat ramp? Just wondering if it is a popular place or one that is so remote that my car will be sitting on blocks when I get back. I kayak fish and look for fairly quiet places to go, away from a lot of boat traffic at 70mph.
Thanks.

It is usually not very crowded during the weekdays. Most the time when I go down there in the week there is less than two cars parked in the lot. There is very few serious fisherman down there most the time.

Thanks for the reply. But is it fairly safe there. Any druggies/drunks/other scum hanging around? Do the police ever drive through?

No, SAMBOLIE normally lurks around the lower end of the lake, stumbling around Cooks or 7 points.

Police drive by every once in a while in the summer. Some sketchy people sometimes, but that is common at the lake. I wouldn't go out there at night though.

Never leave anything in your vehicle at any ramp anyplace. Never have seen anything unusual at any ramp. Maybe some beer drinkers etc. By water Lamar Hill is not far from other ramps. A long way from most areas by land vehicle. Not far at all from Fate Sanders Ramp, not Fate Sanders Marina, when it is open. I am talking ramp across Weakly Rd. from marina. I guess it is still avail. Sometimes not in winter.

I am pretty comfortable with Fate Sanders. Beyond that, it is pretty iffy.

Carried a Taurus 1911 for 5 years everyday, one of the sweetest shooting most reliable pistols I have ever had. I carry my M&P now but I am looking to get another Taurus 1911 in the near future.

I bet if you did not wear the pants even more people would stay away....., well maybe except the cops.

Its actually a very very good gun. Very accurate, no fouling to speak of as of yet. I max out the distance at Guns N Leather and its still an accurate gun at that longer distance. No complaints here. It shoots when it should and doesnt when it shouldnt. LOL.
