How did they cheat?
Gary Minor Jr. of Albertville, Ala. and Robert Gillaspie of Boaz, Ala. were arrested and charged with Tampering with Sport Contest after authorities received a tip that the duo had been holding bass in a pen at a dock and using the previously captured fish to dupe competitors in local evening jackpot bass fishing tournaments on Lake Guntersville in Alabama.

The very reason I don't fish tournaments. I think honest fishermen (95%+ of all) would be amazed at how many tournaments, large and small, are rigged.
Everything from stuffing with lead to "caged" fish. Unless it's for a charity, there's no way I'll sign up; and even with charities, if there's a prize of any size; you can bet some are cheating.

I read a story one time about a guy that shoved lead weights down the throat of the bass he kept for the weigh-in. Unreal.

I just keep minnows in my livewell...... if during the trip around the lake they get hungry they have a snack or 12. I'm just kidding I feed them hotdogs.

He couldn't help it if the fish swallowed the drop shot weight. I wouldn't go in there after it either. :D

And we are surprised??? Bass tournaments are one of the worst things that have ever happened to fishing IMHO.

If that can be the excuse we'd all better start fishing with 6oz weights on our Texas rigs!
