For me september is always the least productive month. Whether its due to seasons trying to change, water temps by that month peaking or i am not as focused on fishing all that much.

Who knows but it seems to be a pattern for me year after year.

Fished my local state park lake that always produces some really nice crappie and only managed 4 dinks and a bunch of yellow bass. This was a very strong cold front and it shut them down!!!!:(

I remember hearing Harold Morgan, great fellow that used to guide on Priest (maybe still does?) say that September was his favorite month for crappie. Not usually all that great for me either, Travis, but I don't get out there much in Sept. anymore.

Fished priest this evening. Fished 3:30-7. Caught 1 drum and 3 bass. 11", 14", 15". It was pretty slow. Tons and tons of small bait.

For the past couple of years during this time of year I have been catching a lot of Gills...and Smallies off of a point at Pickwick Lake. Was a goto place for this time of year.....could always count on it producing. Well now TVA has closed that bank off as they are testing the dam to see if it needs repairs. My only consolation is since they are lowering the water to winter pool almost 2 months early it will mean a lot of water which may bring the stripers and whites up earlier than usual below the dam. My other waters this time of year don't produce well at all.
