So much is being made of secret fishing holes, baits, technique, etc on here. I don't care about sharing what I used, where I fished, or how deep I fished to catch em, but I don't want to cross any lines with the rest of ya.
If a private section were created where members only could share the lake, bait, etc without announcing it to the world, what would the rest of ya think? Even the lurkers here know Alpha fishes almost exclusively with the TM or CM. I stripe fish almost exclusively with a spoon, Little George, or Shad Rap. Making a private area for registered members would allow more release of information, and boost the membership roll.
What do you think?

I think this is a good idea....with caveats.
Anyone who is allowed to view that site would have to be a member who actively contributes to the boards/posts. Meaning they would have to have a certain amount of posts per month to be able to view it. This will keep out the "lurkers".
That's my one quick thought on the matter.

Better yet. Just drop off the forum and not be bothered.
Alpha probably shows more pictures and shares more info than anyone here. I don't recall him ever claiming that his fishing holes have been taken over by the white trash that reads this forum.

Isn't that what private messages are for?

yes, I don't think anything else is really necessary.
Certain types of fishing I am happy to share with the world. Crappie is one of them. I troll regularly on Priest for crappie and if you want info just ask. I will share this publicly because I think that is a giant fishery and there is plenty to go around. Now when it comes to other types of things like creek wading for smallmouth or other similar type things, I won't even tell my catholic priest about that.

That's DOCTOR Obvious to you. ;)
I didn't spend 6 years at the community college earning my OBVIOUS credentials to be referred to as MISTER. :p

Well, I don't recall Alpha ever staking a claim at JPP either. He fishes small streams and big rivers. Didn't mean to offend you, Sambo. Perhaps, if you can't determine who the poor white trash at Priest are, the mirror might be your best friend. Nobody else had any trouble figuring it out.

They are catching BIG brown trout on Percy Priest lake using spoons tipped with white curly tailed grubs.

That's right. I own a vforum license for a different discussion board. This software is incredible. You can have it do anything but wash dishes. TK's admin could easily set the limits for a minimum of 50 posts, or whatever threshold to gain entry.
It doesn't really matter to me either way, but if a new bait hits the mkt, and you fish it with success, it would/could offer a place to tell about it without announcing it to the world.
Like yesterday, I learned that the 2# stripe are running at Joe Wheeler dam. Once it gets daylight, they turn off like a lightswitch. I don't mind sharing that here because so few people fish there anyway. But, the fish are there for the taking.

I was not offended. Just did not include a smiley face.
No one stakes claim on a public waterway. IMO the small streams are the ones that should not be divulged.
I look in my mirror constantly to see who might be stalking me. BTW, not all white trash is poor.

Actually, I do fish there!! Thanks.:) I'll probably wait till the fall to head back down there though. Love fishing below that dam.

Me too. It's probably the most dangerous place I have ever fished, but if you absolutely must catch a fish, that's the place to go.

yes, it can be dangerous if you are not careful. Not for the faint of heart and definitely don't take your boat down there and try it out without having someone with experience showing you how to handle that big water.

Browntrout, you bastard!
You just gave away my best kept secret about fishing JPP. Now I'll probably NEVER catch another brown trout there as they will all get fished out!
THANKS A LOT!

Yeah but that's only 1/2 the battle. Still have to figure out where they are at. Hamilton Creek, Spring Creek, Fall Creek, in front of Hong Kong Island? Now the hunt is on.

And after you bought that new boat to chase them too. I think he should help you make payments now.

Boy Travis, I'm all over that thought!
And I just bought the decals "BROWN TROUT HUNTER" in 10 inch letters, in glitter red, which is double the cost of regular red decals, to put on the sides of my boat!
Think I should get him to pay for those too?
