Hit the water before light....i was ready for action, sadly the either the shad didnt show up or the stripers didnt for topwater action. Me and my brother were feverously casting too! Topwaters, body baits, flukes.....not a sniff. There was some surface activity but it was scattered and spoty. Bro made a run to the dam for some shad, i stayed behind to troll. I caught a small cat trolling. He came back with 2 shad. He set out his planer boards, got about 20 yards down river and that board went down like a bobber. LOL. landed a nice little striper. Repositioned his last shad and got another 30 yards down river and down it goes again. Swing and miss! Lol. He pulled up next to me as i was jigging and we were just chit chatting and I popped a nice little walleye....perfect eater....but he was released to warn the others thier time is limited! LMAO.
generation kicked up and we took off....im running the grill for a bbq today.
Netting shad is still our kryptonite.....well my brothers more so than mine as i left mine sitting in the garage on accident. On the plus side, with all the throwing we have become pretty proficient throwers. Not experts, but not as many banana's!
Pretty good morning overall.

I know....just rude is all they are! Dont they know how early i had to get up to have breakfast ready for them! Lol.
Caney was stained. Not horrible but more stained than last weekend. Seen a few big center console boats head up it this morning to pull boards. They didnt stick around for too long so i dont know how well they did. maybe just looking for shad?
When will that lower section get clear again? After no rain for an extended amount of time?
TWRA officer did a check on me and he said it has been mud the past few days.

Yeah, it's from the smith fork blowing out from a hard rain. Should clear in a few days, unless this rain gets there. I have learned striper don't like muddy water when it's supposed to be clear
