I stopped by the green way on medical after work to let traffic thin out. I threw a bison trout magnet into a tree and then the fight was on! How I got him out of the tree and landed him I don't know. It was a fun 5 minutes on light line. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/12/gyna8aty.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/12/equdunab.jpg

HaHa. You ever catch anything down in that area? I caught two keeper crappie out of that tree this spring goofing off like today. I also catch a lot of gar right in that area. Thats actually what I went for but did not catch any bluegil for cut bait.

We catch bluegill in the spring, some random crappie. My middle kid has seen gar while padding around on his kayak there, but we have never landed one.
What do you got going this weekend?
My friend who's newish to kayak fishing might be coming in and I want to practice some kayak bass fishing for the TKA tournament at woods next weekend. You said you'd school me!

I have enjoyed it, I have to fight the urge to try and impose my will on the fish while fighting them. Looking forward to trying to catch some white bass this winter on it.

I might have to work for a couple hours Saturday but I would be game for that morning or afternoon. It will just depend on when I need to work. I will let you know once I figure it out, you want to fish the grass area or more traditional stretch of river?

We have some large kayaks. Willing to go anywhere, but can't carry our boats too far.

I get more good stuff out of that tree. Always at least 3 or 4 floats. Sometimes a jig or spinner bait too. Kayaks are good for that.

There is always stuff stuck in the trees throughout that area. Anytime I float by them I am always looking for freebies.

I love finding brand new lures in trees and other snags because someone made a bad cast. But of course I really hate when I lose one in a tree or something else. Or when it takes you 15 minutes to get it back.

LOL, you should love me then! ive decorated the trees on Priest like a Christmas tree with numerous buzzbaits, poppers and bitsy jigs!
to my defense though, if i only take 1 bait caster with me, and i adjust it for a bitsy jig for example, i wont remember to adjust it back when throwing something heavier, so when i make that first cast, buddy i lay into it and ZOOOOOM, off into the greenery she goes! LOL.
