I went to Tims Ford after work on Friday to test the planer board setup. The link below leads to a short YouTube video that was created with the GoPro:

Nice job. Obviously you really know what you are doing with those planer boards.

Really cool video! When you were netting and weighing the 16#, did you have another fish hooked that was in a rod holder right near the camera?

You think it would be possible to set up something like this in a kayak? I'd really like to be able to fish for them in the Summer and I like to troll around with crankbaits anyway for bass sometimes. Are you still doing a mix of those 4" paddletail grubs and live shad or just using one?

Jimmy, I can answer this for aero.
He was using the 4" chartreuse sassy shad by mister twister.
He caught the 16 lb'er on an A-rig using the sassy shad as a rear trailer.
I fished Percy Priest with him on Saturday morning and Tims Ford on Sunday evening so I got very familiar with his Riviera boards and how to fish that setup.

Great set up, and an excellent specimen of a Tims rockfish. Good job.

Jimmy:
You're best bet would be to catch a couple of small blue gill and down line with them at the correct depth. Trolling with jigs is very dependent on consistent boat speed. That is why we don't stop the boat when a fish is hooked.
