As planned I went back this morning. As expected I missed another bunch of frog blowups. One wasn't my fault, it blasted about 6 inches behind the frog and made a hole big enough in the duckweed that you could fit a refrigerator in. My heart sunk, that was a huge fish.
I did FINALLY connect with my first frog bass, it was about 15". I was 1 for 5 today haha.
I also caught 3 bass on a SUMKINA stick worm, called a Stinkie Sinkie. The first one I caught was a pig. It was easily 4.5 pounds, maybe hit 5 pounds. She was almost 20.5" long and I got it all on my new GoPro! Another great morning at Williamsport that could have been epic if I was able to connect with all those frog hungry bass. I'm getting there...
All my fish today were caught on SUMKINA worms and also one on a frog called a Tree Frog. It's a soft plastic similar to a Zoom Horny Toad, you work it like a buzzbait. These lures are top quality and made right here in 'Merica. If you want to try some out, come fish with me!

Congrats Jimmy. That place has a bunch of those in there. Through the week it is rare to see anyone down in there.

I know you are on the pro staff of the bait company, but you really need to try a hollow body frog. I think you would catch more of those fish because you can stop it and actually let them key in on it. Snag proof makes Ish's phat frog, it's the best I have ever fished with. Very nice fish by the way.

That's why I love Williamsport so much. Catching a 20.5" bass in there, while awesome, isn't a huge shock. Catching a fish like that JPP isn't very common at all. I will gladly keep making the long drive to fish with very few others out there and have a chance at lots of quality size fish. I hope the water stays high in Goldeneye for a bit longer so I can get a few more Saturday mornings out there!

Thanks, that was the first fish I ever caught on my new GoPro so not a bad way to start that out huh?
I have a hollow body frog but yea since I'm on the prostaff I like to use his stuff. I get tons of blowups on his frogs so I know they work I just need to be patient with the hookset. I've got popping frogs that he makes too that I can slow down just like a hollow body.
The frog misses today weren't my fault though, many of them were short strikes or behind the frog. I think I got that part dialed in. Third time's the charm? We'll see next time I head to that lake!

Are you setting the hook of the blowup or trying to let him eat it? I have found more hookups if you can compose yourself enough to not acknowledge the blowup and continue working the bait until you feel the fish has it.
How fast are you working it? Same pace as a t-rig worm or a zara spook? Try slowing it to a crawl and long pauses if it dives that is perfectly fine. That can be more nerve racking but they wont miss.
I fish a horny toad for 90% of my frog fishing.

Same here. Those things just get bit. Great under docks too.
Good looking fish, Jimmy. I might have to make it down there while I'm on vacation this week
