If any of you guys get out or drive by Priest could I get an update on the conditions. I am thinking about going out Saturday night if the lake is in good shape.

Water is great, I caught 50 bass all over 4 pounds :D

I plan on fishing the Hamilton Creek area again Saturday morning to prefish for the Tuesday tournament. I'll let you know.

Sounds good, I just got off the phone with one of my Contents guys and he said that he drove over 840 and the river was chocolate milk. I hope it clears up by Saturday. I could always fish the river if I have to, it might be cleaner.

Yesterday east fork was chocolate milk. When I passed over Weakley lane bridge the water looked to be a foot of visibility.

That's in the part of the lake that is always plenty clear. It's the upper (Southern) end of the lake that looks like coffee and cream after a lot of rain.

Good luck prefishing. I'm going out there early Saturday morning for the same purpose if you wanna join.

I need to let the wifey see this. All fishermen's birthday weeks should basically be a 7-day fishing outing.

Mine is June 7, so I roll it and Father's Day into a 2 week celebration of myself. My wife and kids do a lot of eye-rolling.

I have a body of water nearby that i gauge as to what the others may be doing. Its pretty colored up with vis about 1ft but the bass have been chasing bait against the banks all week. They have also been all over a black frog even given the water color. Lipless (perch colored) though has produced best along weedlines.

Shoot, I have lived by the Birthday week rule for years now. This is my first fathers day but I don't really feel like I deserve anything since my son is only 7 months old.

Sheesh, I wish I could get my buddy to show up at the ramp that early. He's more of a "I'll meet you around 6:30, 7" type guy unless it's one of his club tournaments. How anyone can be a fisherman and not be a morning person is beyond me.

I get to do the get up at crack of dawn a few times a year. Most of the time i am fishing 9-10pm thru 9-10am pretty much year round. Cant count how many times its been below freezing, dark and i am just getting started.

I do that in the summer to get the best fishing hours, beat the heat, and beat the drunks and/or morons. I'm done by 10am and have had a full day of fishing.

I am not getting up that early. You will see me around 5:30 or 6:00. I don't mind fishing the heat because that means I get to fish deep. I like the idea of getting up and being on the water at daybreak but it does not happen often.

Yep. On a weekday, I'll be the first one in the parking lot, I don't have any other boats to worry about till maybe around 7, 7:30, and I'm off the water by 10, 11 at the latest.

My Grandfather just called me and said that he went today with a couple friends and they caught around 200 Bluegill, 1 two pound crappie and a nice cat. He fished up around hole in the wall island and said that the water had some tint to it but nothing to bad.

Juice, a friend of mine had his trailer stolen off the back of his truck at that parking lot while out fishing last year. Make sure you're locked on.

Thats pretty hardcore. Mine is locked but really stealing a trailer..... CreekCrappie, I love fishing deep. I think it's because I feel like not everyone knows how to do it.... then again I could be living in my own little dream world.

Water at Hamilton creek was fairly clear. maybe 2' vis.

I caught 2 fish. Pumpkinseed and Drum on crankbaits....

i fished a shaky head for a while and bluegill were biting the tail off my worm.

Oh and Jimmy i think i am gonna pass on tomorrow. Coworkers are taking me out tonight for drinks so i will probably sleep in tomorrow. Hope you have better luck than me!

I have no idea how to fish deep, especially without electronics. i just blindly throw deep cranks and every once in a while i will pull out a fish.

No sir! Give me the depths over shallow any day!
IN fact, i was at Academy 2 weekends ago and they had thier Strike 10XD's on sale. Reg. 14.99, i got a sexy shad for $7.98. Ofcourse now im gonna have to drop another $100 on a rod/reel that can cast that monster! LOL.
3/16 oz. bitsy jig, 18-25ft of water = Heaven!

That's a good deal on the 10XD. I picked up a skeet reese rod last year for deep cranking, it's the 7'10" with a diawa 4:9:1 reel for fishing those big crank baits. That 3/16 is a bit small for my liking. The smallest I will go is 1/4 shaky head, I do have 3/16 but I fish those shallow.

Deep water, heat of summer, small jigs with bulkier skirts and trailers have a really slow fall that tempts even the most stubborn beasties into biting.
that thing looks big in the package, but once you have it in your hand its insane how big that thing is. the lip on it is bigger than most deep divers i own! LOL

Seems like nobody is having any luck at Hamilton. Several of us have prefished it more than once and only caught one or two fish.

No worries about tomorrow, I've actually changed plans and am meeting Craig to fish the Cumberland River tomorrow morning. See you Tuesday at Hamilton.

You know I ask you guys about water conditions and I don't even think I am going to be able to get out and fish until tues, wed, or Thursday now. I know the water will be cleared up by then.
