Ive seen the Fishin Affliction guys fish there, the Bass Masters, guys on here, magazines, ect fishing G-Ville. It looks like most of the fishing is done on the large grass matts that form along the channel ledges, is that right?
For a complete novice to the lake, if I did want to fly blindly down there for a weekend during prime bass time for that lake. (im mainly after numbers of fish, not picking solo big fish off of beds....maybe get into some hot topwater action) When would be a good time to go? where would I launch, where would I fish? Does there have to be current there for it to be very good, or is it very good there most of the time?
Ive read articles recently and they all steer me to grass, is there that much grass on the lake? are there better stretches of lake than others that are covered with equal grass?
If all I pretty much need to do is fish the grass matts, that's fine with me, but some info on launching locations/safe-secure lodging would be helpful too!
Once in a blue moon, the bass bug bites me and from what I hear, a 20-4- fish day on the big G might cure that! lol
Thanks guys!

When are you planning on going down? I fished the lake once to twice a month last year and have been down for 7 days this year. I can try and help you out.

I have no idea when I would be going. just trying to get some little trips together to see what can pan out. for starters, say mid-late july for a time frame.
Thanks for the help!
