Well this weekend we will be starting the season opener of our tournament season.

The season opener will be two days a five fish limit. We will use your best 5 fish of the weekend for your total. Prizes will be paid out in cash, 100% payout.

Registration begins at 5pm Friday and lasts until 8pm at site 53 or 54 on Heron Loop.

Saturday 5:30-6am continue registration
Mandatory Captain's Meeting 6am
Launch 6:15am
Check-In 5pm

Sunday
Launch 6am
Check-in 11:30am
Awards 12pm

We will have other games and stuff to do or just hang out at Tournament Central

Everyone must launch from Bledsoe Creek State Park whether it be from a campsite, the public launch, or the campers launch. All anglers must pay their entry, sign the waiver, understand the rules, and receive their identifier before beginning fishing. The identifier will change on the 2nd day so you must check-in Saturday to receive Sunday's identifier.

When I'm not on the field coaching I'll be there.

Saturday and Sunday morning...will the captain's meeting be at the site or at the ramp? Want to make sure I'm in the right place.

I really wanted to go to this but I'm gonna have to miss it since I'll be leaving town again for work. I may go out very early Saturday morning for a few hours to chase Hybrids again but that's all the fishing for me for 2 weeks. Good luck to everyone and I can't wait to fish some tournaments when I get back!

I stopped at Hook1 today. They was out of Hawg Trough Measuring Board. So if I come out to fish what with I need to use? Are where to get one before Friday?

The entry fee is $10 with the big fish pot $5 which is optional. I have 7-8 hawg troughs for sale.

Sorry to hear that jad2t.

Sign up at my camp site or at the public ramp.

Kayaks have livewells or do you take pics and let go?

It's all CPR (Catch Photo and Release).

You catch the fish, take a picture of it on an approved measuring board "Hook 1 Hawg Trough". Fish must face left, dorsal fin toward the 12' 0 Clock position, tail un pinched, bottom lip touching the stopper, and nouth as closed as you can get it with the identifier you are assigned when you sign up.

I'm not a fan of live weigh-in's due to the mortality rate, and also if you are having trouble catching legal length fish CPR "Catch Photo and Release" allows you to submit short fish, due to the fact you are not keeping them.

I do know a few guys who have made live wells and have successfully fished live weigh in tournaments against 150-200 boats and placed well.

We have 19 signed up as of now and expecting another 20-25. Lets see if we can pull off the largest kayak fishing event in Tennessee.
