Took my daughters to Whipporwill Lake yesterday. We fished from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The fishing was tough, but I was able to catch 7 bluegill, 1 shellcracker, and one bass.
I fished a bison TM alone and under a float, 1/2 a blue/charteuse tail Slider grub on a CM 1/32 oz white head, and 1/2 a white/charteuse tail Slider grub on a 1/32 oz CM head and 1/64 oz TM head. The white/charteuse caught the most fish on a slow/steady retrieve.
I tried a Slider lizard and bass grub for bass with no luck. The one bass was caught on the blue/charteuse Slider crappie grub. I also tried the catfish on punch bait for 15 minutes with no bites.
Fish activity was pretty good. I observed what I assume to be Bluegill striking at bugs all over the lake. I observed no bass chasing bluegill.
Largest bluegill was 8". The shellcracker was 9.5".
We ate the fish tonight with a salad from our garden and salt/vinegar roasted potatoes.
