Arrived early this morning hoping to get in some more great fishing below Normandy. It took me 4 hours but I managed 26 spots like the one in the pic.....all about same size. I think the spots are still there it just wasn't a good day on the river. Had a couple of good rain showers but kept fishing. There was a man fishing with crickets and he wasn't doing any good...which surprised me. Talked with 3 other fisherman down river using lures...night crawlers. Same story...no trout. A couple of folks put in kayaks on a float. Would have liked to have been around when they came back for vehicle but had to call it a day. I was using a UL rod....3# test NanoFil with 2# test fluorocarbon leader tied to a 1/16 Crappie Magnet Double Cross jig head with a Purple Redemption Trout Magnet. Tried white and Bison and got no hits at all. That water is very cold. I expect things to just get better the next two weeks. Usually by this time decent size black nose crappie are in there. In May and early June big chunky Gills should make a run up river.
