Thoughts on jig head color?

What is everyone's opinion? Does the color of the jig head matter? Red chartreuse unpainted etc. should it match the color of the jig you're using or contrast it?

Next, does hook color matter on a jig ie nickel or red etc?

Last dies spinners or flashers such as on road runners add or take away?

Just wondering about individual thoughts.

Chartruese/green...best there is. But it's just a confidence thing.

Black. Matches every jig you can put it on.

As for the road runner blades/heads I am not sure. I began experimenting last week with a small road runner jig and a trout magnet body but have not used it enough to form an opinion.

This might not count,but I just finished two and a half days of fishing the Little Red in Arkansas for trout.The water was high and a lot of wind.Was not getting any hits on the color which seems to work best there which is a pink Trout Magnet. Decided to switch the jig head to chartreuse over either black or gold.The hits started almost instantly and did awesome. The same thing with happened with a chartreuse body and black jig head,nothing,chartreuse jig head and chartreuse body in deeper water was the ticket.
According to the the crappie expert T M has helping them,he says color does make a difference on jig heads or bodies.

I have always liked a pink and chartreuse head colors.

I really like white and white and chartreuse for clearer water. I like chartreuse, black and pink for stained water or muddy water. I use unpainted for every type of water. I don't think jig head color matters too much until the water clarity gets up to 4 feet.

I have caught more fish on unpainted jig heads than painted. I think the grub/body has more to do with the bite than the color of the jig head.

tips.

My go to Crappie lure is a 1/16th white road runner jig head with a pearl bubble belly panfish assassin. I have found that those jigs last longer than the Bobby Garlands. If the water is stained-muddy i'll switch to a chartreuse jighead.
But it is all about confidence.

I use unpainted 99% of the time and do just fine. if im sauger or walleye jigging i will go with chartruse or orange though.
But for bass flukes or crappie fishing or something, i use unpainted. makes me feel a little better when i snap off an unpainted head as opposed to a nice painted one...and i snap plenty off! LOL.
