Jeremy,
If you put this one together as well as last year, do not feel the need to bring anything except your bride and a couple of fishing stories.
We all appreciate the effort that you put into this. Let the rest of us bring the "stuff".
Unless, you or your bride have an award winning dish you would like to share with us.

Absolutely. I've always been a bit too chicken to launch there b/c the current seems strong enough to prevent returning to the same spot. Feel free to pm me...

I'm planning to come at least this year to the gathering around 11 am. It's 90% probability but I will confirm the week before. I would like to meet everyone and put faces to the several names I've been seeing on this site for last couple of years. :)
I will bring mildly spiced version of a pork recipe ("pork ularthiyathu") from my home town (GPS coordinates 9.896848, 76.711238), the land of dams and peaks in my state Kerala, India.
Please let me know if I should get anything else.
Would there be fishing in the Cumberland river as part of this event? Would love to get on a willing person's boat and fish for some time. I will gladly share expenses.
Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Vincent.

Thank you everyone, this forum, and gathering would not be what they are without all the great members we have. We may not have the most active members, but I think we have the best members.
Thank you Woody, and looking forward to trying Vincent's the Pork Ularthiyathu. I want to tank everyone for donating their time to just come on out and spend a few hours with likeminded outdoorsmen.
Lets here it for anyone else attending. Alphahawk, Agelessone, Sambolie, tcintn, Heiny, Halli, Dakota, Buccaneer, lupanfreigag? You don't have to be the most active member on the forum, you don't have to bring anything besides yourself and a story or two.
As for the fishing, I know there is a ramp at the park, so if anyone wants to fish you're more than welcome to. If someone would be kind enough to take another member out that would be a very kind thing also.

Dang. My 7 year old's dance schedule was published y'day and she has her rehearsal on May 3rd some time between 12:00-1.30pm and recital on May 17. My wife will not be able to dress and make her up when my 1.5 year old daughter is around (yeah, it's a 2 hour process to dress and make up for this dance), so I have to stay home in the morning on May 3 to help.
When would our gathering disperse? Would it make any sense to come there between 4-5pm? I know it's late but something's better than nothing.
It's so frustrating that I kept pushing out all commitments on May 3 until now just so I could come, and now this.
I will not be able to make this year's gathering. I will be working. I enjoyed the past two and looked forward to this one, but pretty much knew that work was going to get in the way this year.
Enjoy,
Jim

I've taken a short hiatus from fishing due to increased work and family responsibilities and am just now reading posts again on a regular basis. I cant make the gathering but truly enjoy the informative posts. I am investing some of that overtime money in a 14.5 native ultimate tandem kayak. My 2 girls are showing interest in paddle sports.Hope to post some fish pics soon.Hope u all have a great time and safe weekend!!

It looks like I will either be late or a no show. I have a guide trip 7-11. Trips normally go long, then cleaning fish, loading up, and travel.
Susi, Sophia, and Da Snorkster will be there in my stead. They are much more pleasant to look at anyway! I will try my best to at least make a showing, hate to miss the chit chat and camaraderie.....well, with the exception of listening to the mind numbing drivel espouted by SAMBOLIE. That part of the afternoon won't be missed. Poor Susi!

We need someone to bring a jar of sweet relish.
I checked my supplies, I have ample plastic forks and spoons. Is there any demonstrable need for plastic knives?
Since Woody is not coming, we also need some plastic table coverings.
I have 25 brats and 24 buns. Someone is going to have to tough it out.
Do they still make Miller High Life? Milwaukee brats MUST be boiled in either PBR or MHL before being seared on the grill.
Lots and lots of paper towels still needed. Bring paper towels, real fishermen do not use paper napkins to wipe scales and guts off the cutting board or mustard off chins.

I guess do to the first of the warming weekends and ball games and weddings and the usual get out side after a cold winter; That the gathering fell a little short of the signees ... so from this day forward I think our best time would be in the Fall and a different venue ...
We had some members to show up early and set up ...(Thanks Blink) ...Had some great food !! and some great info and stories ... Here are some pic's of Randy (Alphahawk) holding school with some great info ... Also Merv's Daughter displaying Her catch for the Day !!!

Mike, We thought that the shelter was as nice as any around and the location near the pond was great and really appreciate your efforts .. The reason for the Venue statement .. was because I had a number of members PM me and stated that that would really like to attend and some had signed up ... And was planning on arriving a little later in the afternoon do to other family commitments ... The logistics for scheduling seemed to be the rub being we were down town Nashville ... This was a learning curve ... We have never had a Spring Gathering before ... It is different than in the Fall ...
Now a Fall Gathering Maybe, when the kids are back in school and not so many weddings, vacations , etc. ... Shelby Park would be ideal .... <'TK>< :)

The food and company was great. I know everyone has very busy lives, but I want to tank everyone who did come. The food was great, the baked beans were amazing. It was good meeting some newer members I hadn't met before, and it was great seeing friends. I want to thank everyone who come, everyone who brought stuff, and especially Jeff Smith of Trout Magnet for all his generous donations.
We had a lot of conflicts with this gathering. I would like to step back and see what we could do differently to make this better, it is something that will continue.
Something that has been mentioned is changing the date, changing the venue, if there are any other ideas I would like to hear them. Please speak out and let us know your thoughts. This can only be made better with everyone's input.
I will leave this stickied for a few more days then unsticky it.
