Thanks Merv!!! Merv saved the day, not just with the pics, but lent us a heater that kept my daughter Bri warm long enough to get the bites. My phone was froze up and wouldn't even turn on to take pics, and I didn't have enough foresight to bring a heater. The fish did return to the lake to fight another day. I am a fan of some broiled striper steaks, but these fish were bigger than I prefer for eating and have earned their release status by me. Mine hit next to the boat and immediately went under the barrier and boat and resurfaced 20 yards on the other side, so we decided to make a daring move and snag the line with another rod and bring the rod with the fish under the barrier and back up so we could fight the fish from the proper side of the boat. Jeremy's fish was his first rockfish and really made his day.

Dakota, these fish were caught this morning. They were caught on 6 inch swimbaits....Zoom I believe. Maybe one of the "catchers" will chime in on what brand.

I was using a Storm Wildeye Swim Shad 6" shad color, Jeremy was using a different brand but was almost identical.

Thanks aglesssone and striper fan for that info. What a great catch! I have those swims baits in my bag of goodies.

I agree! I don't think anything I can imagine does that situation justice.

I told them when they were doing it that it was something I'd never seen done before. But Hey (Uncle Si), they pulled it off, slicker'n snot!
I didn't have my camera, just my phone and I didn't even think about it until they said they didn't have one with them. That's when I told them I could at least get them a couple photos with my phone.
