I was planning on going over to Old Hickory Lake to try to catch some Walleye and Sauger. I was wondering if anybody has every fished there... is the fishing good? What are the best baits? and What are the best spots?

Steam plant! Every fish known to man hangs out there.

Thank you Mr. juice :) And I have one more question to everybody... What is the best time of the year to go for walleye/sauger?

Try below the dam or the steam plant as Juice said... The only good "spots" for walleye/sauger are the ones that don't get posted online..

I was somewhat Joking but it does seem that you can catch most anything that swims at the steam plant. I might try for sauger saturday out in front of the steam plant by the bluffs along the river channel. I don't know if it will do any good but it never hurts to try.

You can catch anything that swims in OH at the steam plant this time of year..
As far as walleye/sauger go, I usually use 1/4-3/8oz jigs with a white curly tail grub or tight line a tuffy along the bluff. Good luck.

I am going to fish those bluffs after I get done chasing the striped fish at the entrance of the steam plant. I would love to stumble across some of those fish. Never have caught a sauger, accidentally caught a big Walleye crappie fishing Center hill one day.
