Waders? Its getting deep in here.

Hey guys I was thinking about wade fishing some more. Any recommendations on waders? Would like to keep it around $200 to $250 plus boots. I would like a pair that I could wear year round. I do have the undergarments so they don't have to be really insulated that much. I will be using them on the Caney Fork. I have always bought Bass Pro Shops brand "White River" but I thought I would ask for recommendations. Thanks in advance.

I use White River label waders and boots but will be going the Chota route for boots next. Have always heard good things about them and wanted a pair.

For me these waders would rate about 80% satisfied for price. They don't leak however which is a plus.

One thing to consider is a "convertible pair" or if they are convertible. Then you can roll them down for pants if need be in summer. Also be sure to size them big enough for winter layers if your gonna be out in the cold.

Definitely would go the breathable wader route.

+1 on breathable...you'll thank yourself come warmer weather.

I find Cabelas brand waders to have a better fit (talls and stouts etc) and seem to be made better than BassPro. Go with stockingfoot breathable for year-around wear.

For $250.00 you can get a pair of Simms Freestones that will be more durable and much more breathable than the Bass Pro or Cabela's store brand waders. Plus, they're American-made instead of imported from China.

You'll have to go a little extra for boots, but for those I stick with Bass Pro - I have found that the high-dollar boots don't really last any longer than the cheapos. You can get a pair of Redhead wading boots at Bass Pro for about $75.

Roy, you can't go wrong with Cabelas!, I have a pair of their waders that is 6 years old and it has seen some heavy use and has held very well, roomy, comfy very well made for the price, plus their customer service is great in case the need arises, good luck Saturday at the Caney, we need to get togheter and try for those browns again, I hope you had a Merry Christmas!!

I ended up going to Bass Pro last night and got a pair of Simms Waders. They had a pair that in normally $179 marked down to $99. I really like them and can't wait to get to use them.

They are the stocking foot. Bass Pro normally sells them for $179. Here is a link to Sierra trading for them. Bass Pro still had several in stock as of Friday night.
