I had an hour free so I went I Shelby park with my ul setup. Bps microlite 5'-6" with 4lb flouroclear. Tied on my favorite strike king bitsy minnow. Caught a nice stocker on the second cast. Two casts later I hooked into this beast. The fight lasted close to 10 minutes. My pb trout by far. So excited!!!http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/15/6u2a2ade.jpg

Next to my size 11 shoe for size reference. I caught 3 fish total and then broke the lure. I had six other colors of the same lure and none of them got me another bite.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/15/a5y4a7yp.jpg

Great looking fish and congratulations. I know when they stock they will sometimes put three or four really nice trout in at same time.

Nice Bow. That bitsy minnow can be a fun way to catch them.

Wow I bet you werent expecting that! I like how they always stock a few larger ones now so you always have that chance. Nice fish! I might head below JPP today with trout mags and see what I can get into.

How long do these fish survive when the water warms up?

Rainbows can survive in temps as high as 77 degrees if water is well oxygenated. However that is the extreme and if the water temps were say 72 degrees if you hooked one and fought him in to landing he probably will not survive. I have found when the water hits 70 degrees below Normandy Dam the trout are gone. When it is in the high 60's I probably will quit going there to fish for trout.
