I'm looking to make a long day trip there. Anyone have any info on a good place to launch from? Having never been there I'd like to kinda plan the trip the best I can

Kayak right?

Chester Frost will put you in Dallas Bay.
Also another "kayak" launch is at the back of Savanah Bay.
Harrison Bay and Wolftever are also decent launch areas.

chesterfrost, skull island, wolftever. Harrison bay can get a tad shallow for powerboat at winter pool.

Grasshopper is pretty good, if you are looking at upper lake.

its on my list O Lakes to fish. I was scouting some areas earlier this year to fish but never went, hard not to fish Gville since I know it. If you google WMI fishing reports and then choose TN I think there is a recent fishing report from that lake.

This lake is on my list of lakes to fish too, from the kayak. It's not too bad of a drive for me but I'd like to do a bit of research on it so I come prepared. Sure wouldn't mind getting pulled around by one of those 10 pounders in there.

Ya might try messaging the guys from Fishin Affliction on facebook....they have done a show or 2 there and might be able to steer you in the right direction. Dan is pretty good about messaging back from my experience.

Contact Rogne Brown. He is the best guide on the Chick and he is the one that was winning tournaments last winter with 40+lb sacks.

I'm in, let's get the kayaks and go. It's on my list for 2014 but I'd like to get some to go along. I'd say mid April should be prime time.

I am all for it but I am taking the bass boat. I have a Guntervilles trip planned the 10th-13th so I can not do it around then. March might be pretty good, I bet the A-rig bite will be awesome then.

March 9th was the day the 44+# sack was weighed in on Chickamauga this year.
I'm thinking about hiring the guy that won that tournament for a day of fishing sometime in early March. $350 for two guys.

Anybody want to go?

We can drag the boat along, fish one day with the guide, then fish the next day in my boat. Get two trips for the price of one.

Put in at 8am and threw everything I had. A rig, deep diver, jig, worm, lizard, brush hog, buzz bait, crank bait. Not even a nibble. I was in the middle of birds diving and seeing fish on the graph but not a single bite. I only saw one other fish caught all day.
