Tube hook question

I was originally using weighted tube jigs, but with all the rocks around here, I kept getting snagged so last time I was out using tubes, I switched to a regular 1/0 EWG hook with a bullet weight which kept me from getting hung up so much. Well, while browsing at BP, I got some of these http://www.basspro.com/Lazer-TroKar-Tube-Hooks-with-TroKar-Barb-on-Shank/product/10208012/

Not to sound like a total idiot but what's the correct way to put a tube on one of these hooks? The way they are curved and the barbs on the shank are throwing me off...

Texas rigged on the Trokars.

However, insert jigheads have the best hookup ratio. If you are snagging rocks, you are dragging them into and wedging the head. Learn to hop them. It also helps to use a sensitive rod to detect the subtle changes in bottom.

I like the mushroom head jigs for tubes where they will stand upright on the bottom or weedless and a split shot up above just enough to sink somewhat slowly.

The second rigging is real effective in river eddys.

Thanks, the way those hooks are curved that may be the way to rig the tubes. I'm trying to go for weedless/snagproof as much as possible since where I fish, there is a lot of rip rap and rock bluffs. Easy to get hung up.

Do you push the head into the body of the tube and then push the eye through the end/head of the tube?

I just recently started (fishing tubes) and the last time I went out, I fished mostly tubes and did surprisingly well...could have been one of "those" days, could have been the color I was using, who knows but it's something else I want to keep tied on one of my rods.

you can also rig them the same way that you Texas rig a worm. only difference is make sure when you come thru the other side of the tube the hook point it "skinned". Basically just underneath the plastic. Reason being is that is alot of plastic to get thru for a solid hook set. With a weight as shown the have more of a tendency to fall straight down to the bottom depending on the weight size. Rigged with no weight the want to twist and basically cyclone to the bottom looking like a dying shad falling thru the water.

Some people pack a craw into the tube body where the pinchers stick out but i haven't found it worth the hassle.

Im coming around to the shaky head style (if those are the ones with the wire cork screw coming out of the head) it gets annoying having to change plastics frequently because the worm/tube ripped at the bend in the bass hook. Im not a fan of how they looked rigged up cause it doesnt look stream lined to me, but it is pretty weedless if ya skin hook them. I throw alot of Bitsy Tubes and its hard to find the right hook for those short tubes, but them smallies sure do like em!
