The Sauger are starting to move a bit on OH finally. Fished around the steam plant to Bledsoe yesterday and had 6 with only one being a keeper. Caught them all on hand tied Suager jigs that I make in orange/chart. On a side not the rudeness on OH never stops amazing me. While drifting yesterday by the steam plant a boat comes up to fish Skippies. No big deal until they asked me if I was drifting for Suager then after I said yes and talked for a moment pulled right in front of my drift path and dropped an anchor blocking me. It was one of those days I wished I had an XD10 2 ounce crank bait to throw at them. Somedays I really hate other people!!!

Man I hate that for you. I had that happen on jpp last weekend. I was trolling and a boat came within 15 yards of me and he had the entire lake to go around. Irritating!

I used to do well on Sauger (keeper ratio was not real good) and nice white bass in November casting a Buckeye shad between the coal shovel and the steam plant and also across from Coles Ferry. Are you jigging in the main river channel or is some of the canal open coming from steam plant?

Sorry to hear that gboyce. I was fishing the mouth of stones last weekend. One in a boat idled down stones until that reached the Cumberland (and me)'and shot out. Some people don't think.

Thanks for the sauger report. I'm gonna start hitting them up soon.

I think I would have to have pulled right up in front of them a set my anchor. Yeah that was really rude of them.

it was around the steam plant canal mostly. And it wouldn't have been so bad I would have just drifted on either side of them but they were fly fishing so that ties up atleast 20 yards on either side of them which is also the whole canal area I was fishing in

Yet another reason I like fishing weekdays, if at all possible. I'm antisocial enough as it is and I hate dealing with the other boaters, jet skis and pleasure boats. My motto is; "If I can see them, they are too close" LOL. Most of the other fishermen out on the river are courteous and friendly though but maybe that's because the few that are out there on a weekday are out for the same reason as me; to avoid the weekend crowd.
