Cumberland River (Clarksville area) 15 Nov 2013

"A high of 60" they said. "No rain till late afternoon" they said. You'd think I'd know better by now. But, the crappier the weather, the better the fishing and so it was today. These are all the pics I was able to take because once the rain started (which is when the fish really started biting), I put my new camera away. And the reason I had to get a new camera was because I got my other one wet a while ago and water/dirt got under the lens and that's (hopefully) not going to happen to this one.

The water in the Cumberland was once again super clear, water temperature was right at 58 and I caught all my fish on a green/chartreuse tube fished against the rock bluffs. I caught both spots and LM...the fishing was kind of slow until the rain started and then it was like someone had turned on a switch. I caught 2 more about the same size like the one in the pic and maybe 15 that were under a pound. I really wanted to stay out longer but I started coming down with something yesterday and I didn't think staying out in that cold rain too long would be the best idea.

I work a schedule where I am off every 2nd Friday (which just happens to be my favorite day to go fishing)...and every year, I have use-or-lose leave as well :)

I think I was using a 1/8 or 3/16 oz tungsten bullet weight. When I first started out I was using a tube jig but it kept getting snagged in the rocks so I put on a regular worm hook which made things a lot better.

A Canon SX50 HS...this will be my camera to take fishing since I don't want to take my Rebel out on the water. Check out the attached pic, there are some dark blobs towards the top/right which are from the dirt or whatever it is that got under the lens glass of my old Powershot SX200 IS...that camera lasted a while though, I think over 5 years and it's been handled kinda rough LOL

Great report and good pics. Need you and or MNfisher out here in Arkansas to take pics for me. I didn't get a single pic. You all could use those good cameras to capture one of the dozen bald eagles we saw today or the two golden eagles.

Awe man, that's too bad about the dust! Alpha, some day I will join you! But when the fish are biting that good...it's hard to put down the rod and pick up the camera! Lol

I'm surprised that camera lasted as long as it did, to be honest. I've been looking at those Aquavu underwater video systems. This one is coming out in 2014 and looks pretty neat: http://www.aquavu.com/Products/Aqua-Vu-New-Underwater-Cameras/AV-WiFi. Maybe I could then finally see what kind of fish I'm seeing on my fishfinder ;)

Those Aquaview Cameras are worth thier weight in GOLD! I had one of the originals about 10 years ago when they were just grainy, black and white 4" screens and the things you learn are amazing. I need to get me another down the road now that they are cheaper and so much better. LCD Screens, Color, more compact. Ive seen massive schools of white bass in the cumberland using it, walleyes and saugers tucked behind tree's and timber i the cumberland. Hybrids in JPP go right up to the lense and nose it! You really find yourself looking at the screen more than ya do fishing, or atleast i did on some occasions, especially on those "off" days when ya cant buy a bite, troll around the lake and scan some new area's. LOL.
