old hickory lake fishing report 11/11/2013

I went out early this morning and found little to no winds and water temp that was 50.4. I started off using the slip float and jig with a 1 1/2 fluke and just casting with a real slow retrieve. I had some hits but no hook ups so I tried the crappie magnet in chartreuse and trolling it at #1 speed on the bow mount in 8' to 9' of water.I caught a real nice 12 3/4" slab crappie which I let go but I did take a picture of first. I tried to catch more but it was getting warmer and brighter and they turned off so I called it a day. Nice crappie Woody....them things turn on and off faster than a light switch..LOL. Can be frustrating.
