Well, fished today on priest and caught nothing, Just a cold windy day. So I am done till spring plus my motor starting sounding a little funny. I'm think i will be taking it in to have it looked at. Hope anyone who fished today had better luck than me.

Wait... The reservoir has been dropping water so it will not be as most are used too.
Give it time to settle or learn to fish an impoundment with a flow,
Really it will settle once the water levels off,

I am there with you as a crazy. I absolutely love wading for trout in winter day or night. Worst so far was upper teens spitting snow at night in feb but browns were caught.
Hate to hear about the motor and you hanging up the rods til spring juice. Do you hunt to pass the time?

I do hunt in the fall and winter. I am usually done fishing before November but I decided to drag it out this year since the land I hunt around Murfreesboro I can no longer hunt. Looks like I will have to drive to Fayetteville or Culleoka to hunt. I don't know what it is but my motor sounds like it has a chatter. It's never done it before until today, I was afraid to run to far from the ramp just incase it went down. I did have one fish take the tail off a swimbait on my A rig. I found a ton of baitfish but nothing eating them.

I'm usually pumped up to get out every spring. This year I am pumped about getting to fish winter again....haven't been able to fish winter the last two years due to rotator cuff surgery and then a knee replacement. Normandy is close by and plan on catching a bunch of stocker trout.....plus my crappie holes do great in the winter also. Sorry to hear about your motor troubles.

I will deer hunt 2-3 times until I kill something, usually a doe. Once Thanksgiving is here, I will duck hunt til late January in Arkansas. While home, I will fish through the winter, especially once the sauger start running. I hate to fish in the summer and I'm not much on Spring fishing. It seems that every time you plan something in the Spring, it rains.

You know Alpha you talking about surgeries and all. I have fished so often and hard this year that my right shoulder is killing me. Just making the throwing motion hurts and forget about lifting or a pushing force I just don't have the strength so It's probably not a bad thing that I take the winter off. Although crappie fishing sounds pretty good I could go for some fish for the freezer, I might have to call up my grandfather and see if he has any located. Summer and spring is my favorite I am the crazy that is out on the water mid day when it's 110 degrees… but I catch fish so I don't mind it.

The best fishing I had this past year was from Nov-Feb. Always a lot of really nice days to hit the water.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I was out there too, and had the same experience. Couldn't even get a nibble. Tried several different things, and just nothing produced anything. Just one of those days. Tomorrow could be a whole new ballgame, hope so, for those that might be going.

I fished HARD on Saturday and came up with only one bass on a crankbait, an inch too small to keep too so that made it more irritating. I fished this morning until about 10 as well and got skunked. I did catch one on a plastic worm and lost it at the kayak. What happened to Fall fishing? Glad to see I'm not the only one not catching fish, I was starting to get worried since I'm fishing that tournament next weekend :D
I sure hope my luck turns around for that. I know Williamsport is a tough lake to fish but there are some monster bass in there. I also plan on giving the hybrids a shot, at least for the morning.

I think the kayak is done for the winter as well.

Dont do that. There are plenty of fish to be caught in the Winter and you also should come out to the tournament next weekend at Williamsport.

I'm not a very good winter fisherman. And even worse when it's windy.

I'm pumped now that the temps are dropping. I have stripers, hybrids, whites, yellows, crappie, pig smallies, walleye, sauger and hopefully a Muskie or two to look forward to. Winter fishing isn't for everyone, but I absolutely love when it's so cold it hurts. The best thing to keep warm on a kayak when the sun's down and your guides freeze over is the pull of a pissed off fish...c'mon Jack Frost !

I didn't know there was such thing as an off season. Thanks guys for letting some of the pressure off of the fish, it will make it easier now for me.

I sold my boat about a month ago. Otherwise you may as well have taken the winter off.

I am kicking myself for not fishing the past 3 days. Life just gets in the way sometimes. Not looking forward to this cold weather the next few days but if I get a chance I will hit the water regardless if the wind isn't blowing 40 like they are calling for tomorrow. Snow, sleet, etc does not matter much.
