I'm working on creating a website for all the tournament information, details, rules, results, photos, videos. The site will be published soon for all to see, it's not fancy just raw info.

http://kayakbassfishingtn.com/

There will be no forum, I'll be posting info here on Fishing TN. Below is the schedule for 2014. This will be a points based system, only the points for the scheduled events will go toward Angler of the Year. We had great turnouts for the two months we were having these events this year, and want to bring more to everyone. Even if you're not a competitive angler you are welcome to join in on the fun. Come on out fish, have fun meet other anglers in the area, get tips, and reports all in one place.

The July 26th and August 9th events will be three fish bags, and start at 1900 and end at 0100. Registration will begin at 1815. These will be 3 fish limits.

This is awesome! I appreciate you taking the time to put these events together.

Will each event have the same entry fee and big fish?

On the multi day events do we have to be there all three days? I know the opening event in April my kids will be playing baseball/softball, but I would like to fish the other two days.

You're welcome.

All events will have the same entry fee $10, and same Big Fish $5. These events will be different because the payment is optional, if you want to just come out and fish you are welcome to without paying an entry, but then you won't be in contention for Angler of the Year, or able to win monies.

The Multi Day Events will start on Saturday at daylight. Friday is listed because that's when you can register (hang out and get ready), and that's when we'll be getting everything together. It will be over (judging and awards) by 1pm Sunday so everyone can get home at a decent time.

I would like to see as many as possible camp to get that togetherness feel, and be able to socialize during the evenings. There are 3 sites already reserved on Blue Heron Road by anglers who are already pumped.

Love the locations. Can't wait to get started in April. Glad you're doing this, Jeremy, you have a knack for planning events/trips that are more than worth the time to attend. Kudos.

I am going to try and fish it as well.

Gotta get used to fishing out of a kayak before then.

Thanks guys for the incourgament. This is what I like to do. Travis you'll be just fine. Are you coming out to Williamsport next Saturday?

I'm working on something Statewide right now, and would like to host something for everyone locally, or on Tims, Normandy, or Kentucky Lake. Something like a State Championship that you have to qualify for, but everyone allowed to fish it.

Is that some type of oxymoron?

CHECK THE 1ST POST, I CREATED A WEBSITE.

It sounds like it, but I have an idea. Have 4 regions (Middle, South, East, and West). Let anglers qualify, they have to fish 6 events and place in the top 20 anglers in average inches in those 6 events. You can fish as many events as you want to try to better your odds, you can fish 11 middle, 10 east, 10 west, and 10 south if you want, but you can only use your best 6 to qualify for a spot in the Championship. Only 5 anglers can qualify from each region.

The qualifiers have a chance at the end of the year to fish for ANGLER OF THE YEAR. The end of the year will be a 2 day tournament, and each angler uses their best 5 fish of the weekend. To determine who ANGLER OF THE YEAR is.

The thing is everyone is invited, or welcome to fish for money, or just for fun, but not eligible for ANGLER OF THE YEAR only the top 20 can fish for ANGLER OF THE YEAR . A big two day party welcome to all anglers with a score board, smack talking, cheering your favorite anglers on.

Even if you do not qualify for ANGLER OF THE YEAR you can still win the cash and money.

20 anglers competing for ANGLER OF THE YEAR, 100-150 people fishing, and hanging out for two days trying to win big fish, and money from finishing.

I need 3 regions to do this also.

Williamsport TWRA Lakes. Bluecat, Goldeneye, Shellcracker, and Whipporwill (if you are being accompanied by a youngster). It's this Saturday, signups start at 0600, start fishing at 0700. Check in at 1400.

Thanks Craig Dye, is the video guy, I haven't gotten the computer, or time to do what I want with videos. Hopefully the 1st quarter or start of the 2nd half of next year that will change.

Yeah Chris, that 9lb 15oz that Ron caught was sick.

This sounds pretty cool, may have to knock the dust off my kayak. Question about total length. Is that limited to only certain fish? Example, a guy catches a 22" hog bass and another catches a 40" gar ... the gar wins?

Black bass only (largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass). I talked with him about species selection long before he started these tournaments. His thoughts, and I agree, are thought involving multiple species would overcomplicate the fun nature of these tournaments. We did go over the possibility of him adding species later on, but it was made in a very hypothetical manner.

I've been in close contact with Jeremy from the first time we fished together. Planning, organizing, and running events is something he enjoys and excels at. This tournament series has been a loooong time in the planning phase. Everything has been planned for a reason, even the locations and times. There are even specific locations that were NOT chosen for a reason, and the same reasoning went into the choice to include black bass as the only legal species for the events.
