Fished a little while in the windy/rain. Caught several gills on trout mags and this nice hybrid gill.

Nice, I bet those fought hard! Fishing magnets in the wind is incredibly hard! Were you fishing Old Hickory? Never seen or heard of a hybrid bluegill. I am assuming that it is a bluegill crossed with another sunfish.

Not Old Hick, it my little public hide a hole that I can always fish for fun and gills.
This fish is either a green sunfish x bluegill mix or redear x bluegill. Not totally sure. I think if you go one way with the redear's the result gets the red ear flap but going reverse you don't. Meaning female of one to male of other then vice versa.
Trout mags in the wind is hard on 2lb but in this case the was an aid. I could cast between gusts into the seam I wanted then the wind would drift it. Caught one about every other cast. Plus I could reach further and actually caught fish in places I haven't before due to drifting roughly twice as far as my initial casting distance.

That's a pretty fish. Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm probably going to have to use the float tomorrow. You've got that float technique down. It is a great way to fish.
