Went out in search for some crappies on saturday, tons and tons of bait but my crappies were no where to be found....caught 2 nice ones near long hunter but that was it as far as crappie goes. On a possitive note, the white bass showed up in full, surface busting force. Anything and everything you threw at them was crushed. My bro and i boated 40-50 and had countless hits as they were slashing at it so fast. On a 50 ft cast you would get smacked 5-6 times before ya hooked up. No super big ones, but plenty of fight. We chased em for about 30 minutes before they gave us the slip. Wind finally pushed us out of where we were so we got some lunch and headed to hamilton creek. Lots of bait down deep, hooked up with a few nice flatheads in the 5-8lb range in a jigging rapala in 20ft. Right at dark the hybrids showed up blowing up the surface and we feverishly casted only to come up empty handed.
All in all it was a good day with the white bass and the flatheads. Dont know where my crappies went. Never fished out of a boat in the fall here so im not sure what my next step would be in my search for them. Creeks? Deeper water? Wood? Rocks? Upper end of the lake, lower end?
