Alright last Tuesday was supposed to be the last one, but I've having so much fun.
On Tuesday October 8th we will be having our next event. We are going as far north as I feel comfortable to see how participation is up there and bring the tournament to guys who won’t or can’t travel as far south to show them what they are missing. We will be at 130 Douglas Bend Road Gallatin, TN 37066 36.34809, -86.514432, this is Station Camp Creek off Old Hickory Lake. We will keep the same format.
Register at 1700 or just before, brief Captain’s meeting during registration. Launch at 1715, be back at Station Camp Creek Ramp by 2000 to turn in your photos. Please bring a white light that is visible from 360 deg as it will be dark the majority of the time we will be fishing.
We will do a two black bass limit. As long as the fish is 8” or greater take a photo with your camera or phone and have your identifier in the photo. The fish must be facing left, dorsal fin upward, mouth closed, and tail in the natural lay position. The bottom lip must be touching the zeroed mark. Lengths will be measured to the nearest 1/4” and must break the mark. This is a paddle craft event only, no electric, or gas propelled watercraft, kayaks are preferred.
The first place purses are getting larger with each event and they were as follows with the very first event, to the event last Tuesday $65, $78, $90. This is more than enough to pay for your Honey Buns, and Community Coffee to power your watercraft for the evening. The more participants the more places are paid out, the last event we paid out 3 places.
Entry $10, $5 optional big fish, basic Hawg Trough $15, (customized floating, reinforced, lines defined Hawg Trough $20)
(PLEASE BRING EXACT CASH)
There will be a separate bounty on the Hawg Trough called the HOOK1 Hawg Trough Challenge. All sales from the Hawg Troughs will go toward this. In any of these events if you catch a 20” or greater in length black bass, and the fish is on the Hawg Trough you win the pot. The fish must be facing left, mouth closed, tail unpinched and in the natural lay position and break the 20” mark clearly. You must have your identifier for the event in the photo.
