leaving the docks this morning for the early bite at 5 a.m.
I welcomed dirk aka fishaholic and his daughter Angleret Abigal out in the Whaler and had a great morning of catching! Our morning started off with the noodle drop on the ledges of the channels 10-15 feet of water using chopped kingfish scraps and we caught some nice catfish and even hooked up with two large softshell turtles that we released.
While we waited for the noodles to get action we fished the nearby docks, rock ledges and grass beds with small top water poppers , pull baits , and fluke all Dark in color we caught some nice largemouth bass doing so.
Next our third approach topped the day off while again waiting on the noodle bites we trolled small dark deep diver crank baits and hooked and landed a keeper my FIRST EVER Walleye and a nice catfish I had a blast with my friends dirk and his daughter today, and look forward to the next time.

I have to make a correction as I was cleaning fish last night I took a closer look and realized we caught a sauger not a walleye. Having never seen one before we didn't know the difference, fortunately he was legal either way, and hopefully will taste good. Woody we will stop and chat next time :)
