Hit the creek this morning from 6-10 and the bite was good. Started out throwing a frog pattern topwater plug and the smallies were exploding on it. The water was clear and waist deep at deepest points. Around 9 switched over to green pumpkin 2.75" bitsy tube and LM, SM and Redeye were on fire. Just snapped a couple of pics. Does anyone know manufacturer of this plug?

Nice smallie.
It doesn't jump out to me as a "name" brand style with the square gill plate and shape. If I was to make a guess it would be a mold that probably Bass Pro purchased (probably from China) for an earlier XPS line/color. But I could be wrong.

Dont go to any trouble. May have just been one of those days, but they were killin this thing. I just don't remember where I picked it up. With 3 out of 4 kids with tackle boxes who knows where it came from. LOL. I switched over to my med. sized rod today and left the UL at home and had a lot better hookup ratio with my tubes.

It is not a Creek Chub Plunker but it is very similar in profile and slize to the 1/4 oz model. I don't know if any of the Creek Chub baits are make any longer. I know the original place of manufacture in Garret IN is no longer in operation. The Plunker is also a wonderful SM bait.

I have seen it at Bass Pro as one of their brands or in the bargain lures at WallyWorld.

This creek fishing can be so entertaining with 2lb test and and a handful of trout magnets. I do it often and can literally catch 50 fish in an hour. Nothing bigger than an 8" smallie so far though. Once the weather cools off I'm bringing my wife out there and that will be my last attempt to get her into fishing lol. If this doesn't work, nothing will.

I like a #6 Owner hook. The main thing is to just have a hook that's light but strong and as needle sharp as you can get.

I freeline whitebait down in FL with no weights, and I use circle hooks and really like them.
