Anyone know why Old Hickory has so much debris and logs? Is this usual? Last fall was my first year on the lake and it was really nice, but this summer has been really bad.

I would assume from all the rain. We have had way more than is normal.

Yep, from all the generation, there has been more than 10 times the flow this year compared to last.

Alpha and MNF are correct ... Old Hickory is also used as a Balancing lake for the Lakes below it, Cheatham and Barkley. This was one reason of the Flood in Nashville in 2010, the Corp. held it back to long and sent it down the pipe.

To directly answer your question; yes. OH is always littered with debris.

Just an FYI: As the lake rises the trash will move to the current, as the lake falls the debris will move to the shore.

You would think with all the wood on this lake people would take it and burn it instead of cutting trees.................woody
