Fished deeper water above dam Monday a.m. and marked a couple of schools of large fish following shad balls. Wouldn't hit any thing I had. Couple of more boats trolling/drifting and I never saw them hook up either. Talked to couple of boats smallmouth fishing and they had no results. Moved to Drakes creek about 11 am and it was full of schooling bass. Most were largemouth but Idid find one school of white bass. Caught about 12 largemouth and a couple of white's in about two hrs around docks and out in open water near docks. Lgmouth avg 12-13" but a couple of nice keepers mixed in. Just good fun
Main part of lake was still very trashy

Sounds like a good day. So you found schooling bass at 11am this time of year? That's late in the day to find them doing that during the Summer, they're usually way deep by then.

Water temps are in the 70's on old hick, so that plays a part. Also, shad fry are schooling up heavily on the surface. Fish seem to be in an early fall pattern, but the bait is still small. Now would be a good time to break out the fly rods and throw some small minnow-imitating flies. A light-colored TM would probably work, too, I just prefer the fly rod.

most of the best jump fishing I have ever had has been in middle of day on HOT days. Of course that was before the time that "everone" has a boat and jet skis.

Yep I just call'em "schoolies" See them quite often all times of the day and have for years. Generally not any size to them. I hearing big bass are still deep and I'm hearing jigs & deep cranks off ledges or flipping docks for them which would be more typical I think this time of year . Water clarity & temps are a little out of whack. I went to the weigh-in at the B.A.S.S. event this weekend on OHL. Didn't see a lot of quality fish being turned in.
Water temps was in low 70's
