Hey guys, since the rivers are swollen I have been hitting the creeks after work. Caught this guy on a white Pop-r in a local creek. I watched a video if Doug Markham on YouTube catching smallies with a fluke. Have any of you used this technique? If so lb. line / rigging advice?

Nice fish! Gotta love the pop-r its a classic. I've seen the same video you did and have started bringing a pole rigged that way myself. I'm throwing it with a 6ft med rod spooled with 8lb test and rigged with the hook sticking through the solid top. Still experimenting with split-shot/swivel to control the rate it sinks.

I use both fluke and swim bait on 15lb braid that is the size of 3lb rig Texas with or without a 1/8oz weight. But I always have a zoom 6" black lizard rigged Texas with a 1/8oz because I catch more bass on the lizard the anything else.................woody
