Floating Lights for Kayaks

Hey guys I know some of you have been trying to figure out a light source for attracting baitfish in your kayak at night. I have not tried these but this looks like an awesome idea. Anyone tried these?

Pretty neat. I'd like to see if it would react well to getting wet.

Another option is to use standard floating lights hooked to a 12v SLA battery. I have used mine to run a green submergible light and they work great. My light draws 1/2 amp/hr, and my batteries ( I have 2) are 7 amp-hour and 8 amp-hour, so I can get up to 16 hrs of use from a single charge.

These batteries weigh a couple of pounds and are sealed, so leaks are not a problem.

Pretty cool! Those would make some awesome jugs for catfish :) I am sure too expensive, but fun to think about.

Go with waterproof LEDs. You can get any color, length, they bend, and they draw almost nothing from a battery. You should be able to custom fit them to your yak.

Too bad they don't make a LED waterproof scupper light that would plug face down in the hole yet still be smooth or recessed. That way it won't interfere top side but would illuminate under. You could possibly make the rear a solar plate to charge in day hour then switch it on at night.

A kayak with down facing lights would freak out the night shifters on dale hollow. Reports of alien watercraft would spread like crazy, lol.
