Took my dad to the caney today and man was it a slow day. I only caught one the whole day but it was a new personal best for me. Fish weighed 6 lbs and measured 25 inches.

Beautiful trout! i need to check this place out some time. There is no public water in GA with trout like that.

I just posted that lure as a joke... I just ordered that online as a trolling lure for striper. Got 5 for $1.99 each. I pretty much already regret it because of how heavy they are...sinks at a rate of 3 feet per second. Oh well, at least I didn't spend much on it. Anyone got any ideas what this might be good for haha? They are 12 inches long and super heavy.

Browns are meat eaters....but I thought that might be a bit large.....but then again maybe not......LOL.

Go with the big mtr. upstream with one gen running... Spring and fall only ... That is a small rogue bait ... A real one would be better !! ..Can you get them 16 inches long?? ;) <'TK><

Thanks tk...so I shouldn't try that during summer? I had heard that striper go upstream on the caney to cool off during summer and feed on trout...but I have a bass boat that I'm not brave enough to approach the caney in. I was going to try cumberland with it. I'm focusing on trolling with artificials because I lack an adequate life support system for skipjack...if it doesn't work then I'll pony up for the right equipment.

Pm you

That "PM You" must be an awfully good bait. I see on here where a lot of people use that bait. I need to get me some of those.

The ROF @ 3/fps will be just fine. If it's moving it's not going to fall much further. I like 3-5 ROF the best. I have some Huddelston Deluxe 8" floaters that I really don't care for, they don't run how I like, but I'm going to make some modifications to tweek them. I really like the Huddleston Deluxe 8" that have a ROF 5 and are really nice.

Good luck trolling them, they work, but like TK said nothing beats the real thing. It's hard to make a piece of plastic panic when a 40# striper is making a wake 4' behind the trout.
