Fished Normandy tonight for crappie. Well, I attempted to fish. Put in at Barton and as im attempting to get the boat started, this guy backs down and launches right on top of me. His trophy wife come flapping to the back of their ski boat and has to stop us from hitting. (What happened to common courtsey?).
I went past Fire Lake ramp to the bend and started fishing in 10-15 ft water. Had fish suspended at 12' but couldn't get them to bite minnow or any shape, size, color, etc jigs. Moved on long lining. Not sure of depth but speed was .8-1.1 mph. Nothing. Tried the fishing light I made. What a joke. It floated and the power wire pulled it right alongside the boat. All it did was attract bugs! Moved on heading back and long lined and pulled cranks. Nothing.
All we caught all night was a small catfish. As we were getting back there were 3 boats with lights out under the bridge crappie fishing.
This is my second trip to Normandy, and second time getting skunked. I think once I have a better grasp on my down imaging I will do better...I hope.
Oh and jalapeņo cheddar brats and grilled asparagus are NOT, I repeat NOT, good things to eat before going on the lake.
