Got to Laurel Hill early this morning. The wind was already blowing but put in and headed out to a point that drops off to deeper water. I caught my usual Gills there but it was hard keeping the kayak in position and out of the trees lining the bank.....paid good money for anchor need to take it. Tried to get out of wind but that is hard to do down there. They have not fertilized in a while and I hope they don't for a while to come as I like the water being semi clear. No pics until I fix camera or decide to take my phone in the kayak with me. Stopped by VFW on way home and fished from the bank a little. The water there was really clear down towards the dam. Got to see the lake was full of bass....bluegill fry. Don't get to see that water clear at either of those lakes except in fall.....winter, and early spring.

Did you catch any big gills at either spot?

Caught good 9 inch fish at Laurel Hill and 7 and 8 inch fish at VFW. I want that 11 inch fish and feel I will get it. In the past have done really well at Laurel Hill all through July and August.

They make waterproof cases for most phones which would be a good investment unless you are ready to get a new phone. An anchor, and anchor trolley, and or stake out pole if shallow enough is a must when working small baits, or something with a slow presentation.
Oh' I forgot to add, I've been using the Panasonic Lumis TS Series cameras for 4 years now and have nothing but good to say about them. They are tough.
