Me and a couple buddies went to Montgomery Bell this weekend to do some camping and a little bit of fishing. We got to Lake Acorn at about 11:30 Saturday and fished it for about 2 hours from the bank. I caught a couple smaller fish on a frog.
We then went to Lake Woodhaven and went across the spillway and fished the riprap bank. I caught one smaller fish on a River2Sea S-Waver 168. We we got out of there around 3 and went and set up camp, cooked and ate dinner and then went back out to Woodhaven for the last hour of light, but this time by the boat launch.
I caught a 10" fish on the S-Waver (its a 7" bait)
My brother in law to be caught a long fish on a pop-r. It was probably 17" or so, but i doubt it would have weighed more than about 2lb. We really wished we had boats. Big fish were busting in the middle of the lake. The water was pretty clear and there was little to no algae bloom.
We saw a few groundhogs, a very young fawn whitetail, a small northern water snake, a variety of turtles. It was nice.
We found some wild garlic and seasoned our potatoes with it.
It was hotter than a nanny goat in a pepper patch during the day, but it got nice once the sun went down.
